1. This site is educational

Everything on Apex Multispecialty Clinic’s website is written to help you understand a condition, a symptom or a test before you come in. It is general information. It was not written for you, it does not know your history, your other conditions, your allergies or your medicines, and it cannot examine you.

2. It is not a substitute for a consultation

Reading a page here is not the same as being assessed by a doctor. Two people with the same symptom often have entirely different causes, and the difference is usually found in the history and the examination — neither of which a website can do.

Using this site does not make you our patient. That relationship starts when a doctor sees you at the clinic. See the terms of use.

3. Never delay care because of something you read here

If you are worried about a symptom, get it seen. Do not wait to see whether it matches a description on this site, and do not be reassured by a page that seems to say your symptom is usually harmless. “Usually” is not “always”, and the exceptions are exactly the people who needed to come in.

4. We do not give individual advice online

We cannot diagnose you, interpret your report, or tell you what to do about a symptom by email, through the enquiry form, on WhatsApp, or in a comment or message on social media. Please do not send us symptoms, scans or reports and wait for a reply — nobody is watching for them.

Those channels are for arranging an appointment and for practical questions such as timings, what to bring and what a test costs.

The clinic does not offer teleconsultation at present. India’s Telemedicine Practice Guidelines set out how a registered medical practitioner must identify a patient, take consent and keep records when consulting remotely. Because we are not doing remote consultations, nothing on this site should be taken as one.

5. Never start or stop a medicine because of this site

Do not begin a drug, change a dose, or stop a tablet on the strength of anything you read here, including anything about a condition you are sure you have. Stopping a heart, blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid, anticoagulant or epilepsy medicine abruptly can be more dangerous than the problem you are trying to solve. Talk to the doctor who prescribed it first, even if you intend to change doctors afterwards.

6. Accuracy and currency

We write these pages carefully and review them, but medical understanding changes and a page can fall behind. No page here is a clinical guideline, and none of it overrides what a doctor has told you in person after examining you.

7. If something here looks wrong

Tell us. Write to info@apexmultispecialtyclinic.com and we will check the page and correct it if you are right. Concerns about care you received are handled differently — see patient rights and grievance.
